Jmuiden
Cox360 B.V. is my practice in IJmuiden, on the coast just outside Amsterdam. I advise international clients on their Dutch operations and help Dutch companies find their footing abroad, with particular attention to the United Kingdom and Germany.
The work runs from the routine to the awkward: annual accounts with a compilation report, corporate income tax and VAT returns, payroll, and the questions that arise when a company is owned in one country and operates in another — permanent establishments, VAT registration and fiscal representation, business valuations, and the position of the shareholder.
Clients grant me a power of attorney so that I can act for them here on my own authority, which spares them the Dutch digital formalities and a good deal of correspondence. Where a matter calls for a specialist — a Register Valuator, a payroll or VAT specialist, a colleague abroad — I bring one in and remain the single point of contact.
MEMBERS
I am a Dutch Chartered Accountant (registeraccountant, RA), registered with the Royal Netherlands Institute of Chartered Accountants (NBA), and I run Cox360 B.V. from IJmuiden.
I began my career and trained at large accountancy firms, and then spent twenty-five years as a partner at Cox & Partners in Amsterdam. Alongside my work in practice I taught auditing theory — Leer der Accountantscontrole — at university. Since 2021 I have worked on my own account, which allows me to bring that experience directly to a select group of clients.
My work is with owner-managed companies, their holding structures and the people who own them — in the Netherlands, and increasingly for owners based in the United Kingdom and Germany. Compiling the annual accounts is the constant, together with the corporate income tax and VAT compliance that follows from them; for specialist tax questions I work with external tax advisers.
The interesting part tends to be what happens around that work: a company bought or sold, a structure that no longer fits, an estate with a business in it, or an indicative valuation that has to survive a negotiation. Where a valuation must stand up in a dispute or before the tax authorities, I bring in a Register Valuator from my network and stay alongside it.
I work in Dutch, English and German, and through IGAL with colleagues abroad. Clients deal with me directly, and I would rather say plainly where my expertise ends than improvise at their expense. Out of office hours I am usually on a sailing boat — which, through the summer months, is also where the office is.
